A Call to Consciousness: A Native American Perspective

The Religion & Common Good Seminar, in cooperation with the Institute of Native American Studies, will host Thom White Wolf Fassett on March 22 at 7:00 pm on "A Call to Consciousness: A Native American Perspective."

This is the final seminar for the year in our "Religion Confronting Racism Series."  Thom is the Emeritus Secretary of the Global Board of Church and Society of the United Methodist Church, and so approaches our topic with a complex and unique perspective.

Seminar in Interactions of Religious Traditions in Africa
Credit Hours:
3 hours. Repeatable for maximum 9 hours credit.

A study of religious traditions in Africa with focus on advents, contacts, common grounds in religious beliefs, practices, and teachings. Referencing African Traditional Religion, Christianity, and Islam, this course examines themes such as faith, worship, concepts of creation, sin, salvation, and dynamics of interactions, including syncretism and religious dialogue.

Not offered on a regular basis.
