Congratulations to Dr. Eric Adéwuyì Mason who completed his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Ibigbolade Simon Aderigibe in Fall 2022. Eric Mason, a native of New Orleans, received his Ph.D. in the study of African religions, specializing in the Ifa priesthoods within Orisa Religions around the world. His dissertation covered the use of virtual instruction in the education of Ifa priests in the United States. Currently, Dr. Mason is extending this research in a collaborative effort using haptic technology to mimic tonal language to aid Ifa priests learn to chant Ifa Divination Poetry.
